Formed in 2000, ideas21 is an innovation network and specialises in the successful exploitation of ideas and intellectual property. Supported by government and industry, ideas21 provides regular networking events and other IP related activities including seminars, workshops, and open meetings on topics of current interest,  ideas21 is a partner with the British Library Business & IP Centre and Own-it and supported by the UK Intellectual Property Office and the Manufacturing Advisory Service.

Seminar speakers cover the following core topics:

  • Identifying your market

  • Making a prototype & designing a finished product

  • Protecting your ideas

  • Starting a business & attracting investment .

ideas21 also provides regular clinics where inventors can benefit from free half hour one to one advice sessions with experts in the following areas:  Intellectual Property, Licensing, Design & Prototyping, Manufacturing Your Invention, Steps to Success and Grants to Support New Product Development. Appointments are held during the day at the British Library Business and IP Centre.

Membership is open to any individual either employed in or with a keen interest in the Invention and Innovation sector.

ideas21 is setting up an Innovation Calendar intended to list forthcoming events, seminars, workshops, exhibitons, clinics, meetings, training programmes, competitions and awards relating to invention, innovation and intellectual property. Organisations are invited to submit details of their events for free.
